The Great Resignation or The Great Awakening?

According to a recent survey, a record 4.3 million people quit their jobs in August of this year. Hence “The Great Resignation” seems appropriate terminology when looking at this current US labor statistic. Of course, that data point alone doesn’t represent all the changes within the labor force, but standalone, it’s quite staggering and adds to the already stress-laden brains of leaders and their teams.

If we reframed the terminology as “The Great Awakening,” I would wager it would lessen the stress load, and a fair majority would have a more brain-friendly association with how to reflect on the pandemic’s impact on both personal and professional goals.

For leaders looking to explore more rewarding reflections for themselves and their team, and benefit from this heightened state of awareness, now is the time to consider working with an executive coach.

It’s not just coaching–it’s coaching the whole person

In today’s pandemic-ridden environment, coaching must support the whole person. Along with growth and development, it’s important to bring the right resources to address challenges, have a much greater emphasis on mental fitness, and develop strategies to include personal health and wellness.

For some, The Great Resignation posits that leaving a current position is the thing to do. It can be the right decision if based on well thought out reflections. For others, it’s not the right decision, yet reflecting on experiences and forward progress hasn’t been properly vetted. Either way, working with an executive coach can help guide you through reflection, set goals, and commit to greater outcomes and success.
